Sorry it's been awhile since I have written a post. If case you are wondering I am still a brunette lol;) I actually really like it now. The last couple of weeks have been a little rowdy for us. Little Missy had a double ear infection that landed us in the Friday night urgent care clinic (why is it always Fridays at 5 when my kids get sick?). As soon as we got home her right ear drum ruptured. Not good. But she was finally able to sleep once all that pressure was released.
So last weekend was pretty chill. We stayed home and tried to get her well. I took her back to re-check her ears yesterday and they were all good. Yay!
We also found out last Friday Little Missy is allergic to PEANUTS, eggs, bananas, rice and cinnamon. Not good. Back in January she had eaten some peanut butter and her left eye swelled up which scared me to death. So we scheduled to do food allergy testing. I already take Super L every Friday for allergy shots so we just did it while we were there getting his weekly shot.
I won't lie I was pretty devastated. Especially about the peanuts because that is a scary allergy to have. Our allergist is pretty confident she will outgrow all her allergies except the peanut allergy. I think we are going to have a blood test done to see how allergic she is to them. If she is severely allergic we may need to carry an epipen:(
As a result of the testing and some conversations between J and myself we have decided that we all need to start eating more "cleanly." So I spent my weekend at Costco and Kroger. Then I spent all Sunday night washing and prepping and meal planning for the week.
The result?
A fairly easy to follow diet plan that both J, myself, and the kids seem happy with. I will write about it in more detail later.
Hopefully now that we know about the Little Missy's allergies we can get her over these ear infections. Our pediatrician feels the food allergy was certainly contributing to the fluid (and I totally agree).
Now if she would just sleep through the night! I swear how is it possible to have an almost 15 month old baby who still wakes up at least once during the night? I don't always go in her room but it still wakes me up and I lay there listening to her for about 30 minutes before we go back to sleep. I am hoping that she will start feeling better and sleeping better now. She was sleeping through the night until all this sickness began in December and it's been all over the place ever since.
I am so ready for warm weather!!!
I am saying a prayer for your family!
