The Befores

I realized I never posted my "before" shots of the kids bathroom.  I had taken them but they were being held hostage on my camera and I was too lazy to upload them;)  I think the camera on my cell phone is a terrible, terrible thing.  I told myself this week I need to stop using it and start using my actual camera so I can have some decent pictures of my children lol.

Anyways here is the before:

Don't be jealous lol!  I know you wish you had that beautiful tile and big half wall in your bathroom;)  Oh and don't forget the hermit crabs hahaha!!!  They are now residing in L's room.  I will NOT let them stay in my bathroom.  There is no way I can see them first thing in the morning.

You can probably tell J had already started taking down the tile around the base of the half wall but that is all we had done when we took these pictures.

This weekend J and his dad spent a couple of hours trying to remove the rest of the mortar bed.  They wanted to rent a concrete grinder but all our local stores only had very large ones.  This is a small space so I think this next weekend they are going to rent a small jack hammer that has a chisel attachment and go at the mortar bed from an angle.  The guy at Home Depot said they can probably clear the whole space in about 2 hours with it.  Yay for that!

This project is most likely going to take a couple of months to complete but we pretty much only have Saturdays to work on it.  Week nights are just plain crazy around here between kids and work.  But it will get done eventually.  Sharing our bathroom hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be.  It's actually forcing me to clean it more often which is a good thing.  I don't want company to see it trashed!
